Call for Poster Presentations

Submission Deadline: July 11, 2008

Proposals are invited for a poster session to be held October 30, 2008 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the National Forum for Implementers of School-Wide Positive Behavior Supports, October 30-31, 2008, in Rosemont, Illinois.  Posters may address the forum theme, “School-wide Positive Behavior Support: Integrated Systems for All Students”, or cover other topics of interest to implementers of all levels of School-wide PBS.

Goal:

Posters provide an informal opportunity to describe and discuss more detailed examples of specific successes, and for more one-to-one discussion about how SWPBS is actually working.  Every state has unique ways in which the main themes of SWPBS have been fostered.  Submit a poster describing what you have done in your state, and what you have learned.

Format:

A horizontal poster space measuring 4 x 8 feet will be available for each poster.  Please bring material to tack on the poster space, and any handouts you wish to provide.  Power will be available at the poster site for you to run an LCD if requested in advance.  Our hope is to keep this simple, fun and informative.

Requirements:

  • Describe specific practices or implementation procedures used in your state/district.
  • Provide data documenting implementation and/or impact on children.
  • Please plan to have at least one poster presenter present for the full two-hour session.
  • Handouts are strongly recommended and are the responsibility of the poster presenter.
  • Poster presenters must register for the forum

Submissions:

Interested poster presenters should submit the attached form along with a brief description of poster topic and content to include system features, research/literature base and implementation data.  It is the committee’s intention to accept as many poster presentations as possible, however all poster proposals will be reviewed for fit with the forum audience and for quality.  Preference will be given to posters that emphasize strategies, processes, outcomes, etc. that relate to enhancing systems level implementation of SWPBS at the primary, secondary, and/or tertiary intervention tier levels.

Submissions received after the deadline will be reviewed as space permits.  Accepted poster presenters will be notified via email.

Proposal Submission Deadline:  July 11, 2008

Notification Date: August 4, 2008
